In recent years, Meridian Homes® has expanded its portfolio to include the conceptualisation and construction of small communities and resorts. Leveraging the increasing practice to own second homes and retreats, we have had several opportunities not only to create individual homes, but also to plan and build the whole resort complex within which the houses sit.

Our estate projects in Thailand mark a major milestone for us as we were involved in the entire process from land feasibility studies to finding the correct business models and working with local partners.

Meridian Homes has experience in these:

• Securing authentic full land title deed which multi-level verifications
• Developing complex financial models and cash flow projections suitable for such cross-border, multifarious projects
• Land feasibility and analysis studies
• Setting up of companies within the full framework of existing local and international regulations, including issues related to land and asset ownership
• Tax and regulatory framework, in association with established local partners in the legal and accounting circles
• Design, construction, supervision and project management as a single entity.

With the advent of affordable flights and excellent cross-border connectivity, there is every reason for good friends and relatives to develop their private hamlets in a neighbouring country. As with such retreat/resort complexes in Europe and the US, these second homes may be situated in idyllic locales featuring rolling hills or cliff-top locations, or be built alongside scenic streams or rivers…of which Asia has no shortage.
